No experience or ability needed, no auditions, no awkwardness. Even if you feel like you can’t sing or don’t like the sound of your own voice (who does?!) you’re TOTALLY welcome along!
So Choir!, short for SOcial choir, is a live music event that brings together a whole bunch of lovely people in Pontefract for drinks, laughs and to sing awesome pop & rock songs! Add your voice to the mix and get ready to be blown away by the sound of sweet 3-part harmonies sending shivers down your spine.

The Old Post Office is an exciting live music venue & bar located on Ropergate, in the centre of Pontefract and within easy reach of Wakefield, Castleford and the surrounding area.
This venue is an absolute smasher! Great atmosphere, top staff, fantastic stage with sound and lighting to match. They serve excellent drinks – quality draft beers, spirits & cocktails, all linked with a passion for great service and live music.
When is So Choir! Wakefield & Pontefract?
Tuesday evenings! Meet at the bar from 7.30pm. Singing starts around 8.00pm and finishes around 9.30pm. So Choir! IS Social Choir, so you’ll always find people around earlier for drinks and chats!
Parking for So Choir! Pontefract
Parking is plentiful too! On-street parking is available on Ropergate itself which is free after 6pm. There are also a couple of council run car parks, also free after 6pm, just a few minutes walk away: Newgate South Car Park and Newgate North Car Park
Getting to So Choir! Pontefract by Train & Bus
The Old Post Office is just an 8 minute walk from Pontefract Baghill Train Station and a 14 minute walk from Pontefract Tanshelf Train Station. Getting to So Choir! Pontefract by bus is easy too, with Pontefract Bus Station just a 5 minute walk from the venue.

Our Wakefield crowd made the move with us, so it’s still the same So Choir! you know and love – just with a cracking new live music venue, a whole new Pontefract crowd to make some noise with, and plenty of room for more!
